Globalization means that engineering has to be reshaped for quality assurance and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams. The job, although market oriented, can not be deprived of individual effort, being the engineer an active player instead of a mere executor of the capital. A continuous improvement of knowledge and techniques is required. Quality is mainly a method: take care of all the stakeholders, make processes and products eco sustainable, respect the ethics of your role as an intellectual.

Giuseppe Cornacchia, 1973, is a chartered engineer in Italy since 2003. He graduated as a nuclear engineer (five years course + final dissertation) in Pisa, Italy, devoting his twenties to the study and to the practice of science, literature and philosophy. In September 2006 he moved to England in order to attend a MSc in nuclear physics & engineering at the University of Birmingham. After graduating with Merit, he started a PhD at the School of Materials of the University of Manchester, where he is expected to graduate in early 2012.
